Adam Virgile joined the UVM Athletic Department as a volunteer Sports Science Coordinator in August of 2019.
Adam is responsible for coordinating the collection, interpretation, visualization, and applied integration of physiological data from UVM sports teams, particularly the men’s ice hockey team, to enhance student-athlete wellness and performance.
Virgile holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Movement Science with a minor concentration in Nutrition and Food Sciences from the University of Vermont (2013). While at UVM, Virgile was an intern in the Strength and Conditioning department for one year.
Prior to his return to UVM, Virgile was the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the New York Rangers ice hockey team from 2013-2015. In 2015, Virgile transitioned within the Rangers organization to become the team’s first Sports Scientist/Performance Analyst. While working for the Rangers, he also earned his Master’s degree in Nutrition and Human Performance from Logan University.
Virgile is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), as well as a certified Functional Movement Specialist (FMS).
