Biography
SENIOR SEASON (2023-24):
* Started 34 of 35 games (DNP at BU 3/9 in regular-season finale) with 2.77 GAA and .906 save %
* Had 3.00 GAA and .900 save % in 23 Hockey East contests
* Won 5 straight starts December 9-30 with 1.20 GAA and .954 save% during 5-game stretch
* Allowed 1 goal in wins February 17th vs. Merrimack (24 saves) and March 1st vs. Maine (31 saves)
JUNIOR SEASON (2022-23):
* Started 25 of 26 games played with 2.67 GAA and .910 save% overall
* Finished with a 3.00 GAA and .901 save% in 15 Hockey East games
* Had a 12-save shutout (only of season) in 6-0 win October 22nd vs. Holy CrossÂ
* Stopped regular-season high 42 of 43 shots in 1-1 tie October 29th at Colgate
* Made season-best 43 saves in Hockey East quarterfinal loss March 11th at Boston UniversityÂ
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2021-22):
* Appeared in 23 of UVM's 35 games overall with 2.88 GAA and .905 save%, while 17 Hockey East games with 3.01 GAA and .903 save%
* 3 shutouts during the season: 12/3 at Maine (25 saves), 1/28 vs. Alaska-Fairbanks (21 saves) and 2/11 vs. New Hampshire (23 saves)
* Earned his 1st career victory October 29th in overtime win vs. Boston College
* In back-to-back games at Maine (12/3-4) stopped 73 of 74 shots including 50 saves on December 4th (also stopped all 3 attempts in shootout) to earn Hockey East Goaltender of the Week honors.
FIRST-YEAR SEASON (2020-21):
* Appeared in 6 games during the shortened Covid-19 season
* Came off bench to save 23 of 23 shots over 31 minutes in his collegiate debut 12/26 vs. Northeastern
* Saved 29 of 30 shots in his 1st collegiate start on vs. Boston University (2/12).
BEFORE VERMONT:Â
* Spent 2019-20 with the Waterloo Blackhawks of the USHL, where he ranked 2nd in the league with 21 wins in 34 games played
* Voted Waterloo’s Rookie of the Year, he ranked in the top ten in GAA (2.57), SV% (.905), and shutouts (2)
* Prior to his time in the USHL, Gabe spent two seasons in the CCHL with the Kanata Lasers and the Ottawa Jr. Senators, where he was named to the league All-Rookie and All-Star Teams
* While in the CCHL, he won a bronze medal with Hockey Canada at the 2018 Junior Club World Cup in Sochi, Russia and was named MVP of the 2019 CJHL Prospects Game.
