Andrew Bracy enters his third season as a volunteer assistant coach with the University of Vermont men's lacrosse team in 2020.
Bracy coached Vermont's faceoff specialists and helped the team rank second in America East and 33rd nationally with a .511 success rate. Sophomore Alex Semler earned America East Second Team All-Conference honors after going 136-for-258 (.529) in 2019.
Â
Although a native of Carthage, New York, Bracy is no stranger to lacrosse in the state of Vermont. After graduating from Carthage High School in 2011, he headed east to Division III Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont under the guidance of head coach Neal Anderson. Bracy enjoyed a successful career with the Cadets, who reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 2013. That came after the squad took down defending GNAC champion Mount Ida in the league title game, completing a perfect 12-0 conference slate.
Â
As a senior in 2015, Bracy led all Division III faceoff specialists nationally, boasting a .743 winning percentage over 15 games (168-of-226). He was a two-time All-GNAC selection, receiving Second Team honors in both 2014 and 2015. In addition, he was named to the NEILA East/West All-Star All-Region Team in 2015 as well as the NEILA Academic All-Region Team that same year.
Â
Bracy closed out his career having appeared in 60 games, making 32 starts. He recorded six goals, scooped 148 ground balls and went an overall 365-of-545 at the X (.669), the last of which sat second in program history at the time of his graduation.
Â
He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Norwich in 2015.
