Mike Kruger

Mike Kruger

The 2014-15 season marked Mike Kruger's second as an assistant coach with the Vermont Men's Lacrosse program. He was hired in July of 2013 and came to Vermont after two seasons as the head coach of the men's lacrosse program at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va. He led the Hornets to five wins in 2013, matching the win total of the previous three seasons combined.

Prior to taking over the helm at Shenandoah, Kruger spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Washington and Lee University.  He was the defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator for the Generals.  He successfully mentored four all-conference players and one USILA All-American at Washington and Lee.

Kruger, who is UVM's defensive coordinator, began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.

As a player, Kruger was a four-year starting goalie at Fairfield University.  He currently ranks third among the Stags' all-time leaders in saves (536).  He helped Fairfield win the 2005 GWLL Championship and earn a berth to the 2005 NCAA Tournament.

Kruger earned a bachelor's degree in communications at Fairfield in 2007 and graduated with a master's degree in American studies from Trinity in 2010.
