AS A SENIOR: Started all 12 games that he played in … Was in goal for both of Vermont’s wins … Posted 10 or more saves in eight games … Finished 22nd in the nation in saves per game (10.25) … Finished fourth on the team in ground balls with 31 … Stopped a season-high 19 shots on the road against #1 Virginia … Only allowed five goals in an 11-5 victory over Binghamton.
AS A JUNIOR (2011): The Catamounts top goalie, he started all 15 games on the year … Finished second in the America East in saves per game (9.67), third in save percentage (.537) and fourth in goals against average (8.80) … Stopped 10 or more shots on six occasions, including a career-high 19 against #16 Denver … The 19 saves were the second-most in a game this season by an America East goalkeeper … Gave up a season-low four goals in the season opener, as Vermont defeated Air Force 9-4 … Made 16 saves in a 7-5 win over Bryant … Helped the Cats earn their first win over Albany since 2001 with 13 saves in an 11-6 victory.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2010): Barton played in 12 games making 11 starts … Posted an 11.06 goals against average and a .510 save percentage … Was in goal for all three of the team’s victories … Made 11 saves and had five ground balls in an 18-7 loss at No. 1 Virginia on March 16 … Had a career-high 20 saves in an 8-7 loss versus St. John’s on March 20 … Made 10 stops and had three ground balls in an 11-8 win against Binghamton at Moulton Winder Field in the America East opener on April 3 … Had 10 saves against Hartford in a 13-6 victory at home on April 17 … Turned away 10 shots in an 8-7 overtime loss to UMBC on April 24 … Made 10 saves in a 10-6 loss at America East regular season champion Stony Brook in the league playoffs on March 4.
AS A FRESHMAN (2009): Saw action in one game and made one save in 15 minutes of action in an 18-5 loss at No. 10 UMBC on April 25 … Named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.
BEFORE VERMONT: Barton played for Boston College High School in Boston, Mass. ... As a team captain in 2008, he helped lead BC High to 10-7 record ...
