SENIOR SEASON (2020): Recorded eight saves in the first half against Quinnipiac (Feb. 22) to pick up the victory … Made a season-high 14 saves and added a career-high seven ground balls against Merrimack (Feb. 29) … Made seven saves in the first half against Dartmouth (Mar. 7) … Finished the season ninth in the NCAA in goals against average (8.89) and save percentage (.585). *
JUNIOR SEASON (2019): Earned All-Conference First Team honors after starting all 15 games for Vermont and talllyinh 872:11 of gameplay ... Finished the season seventh in the NCAA with a .563 save percentage and 10th in the NCAA with a 9.70 goals against average ... Recorded a season-high 18 saves against Hobart (Mar. 9) and tallied 10 or more saves in 10 games ... Stopped 16 shots in Vermont's 13-9 playoff win over UAlbany ... Scooped 39 ground balls to finish third on the team and has 103 career ground balls, one of 23 players in program history to reach the century mark.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2018): Led the country with a .609 save percentage while starting every game for the Catamounts ... Became the first Cat to record 11 wins in a single season and finished with 12 ... Fourth in the country with a 7.72 goals against average ... Added 40 ground balls during the season ... Recorded double-digit saves in nine games, including the final five games ... Recorded a career-high 19 saves against Virginia (April 21).
FRESHMAN SEASON (2017): Was between the posts in 12 games, making 10 starts ... Finished the year with a .517 save percentage and 11.26 goals against average with four wins ... Totaled 124 saves ... Was named America East Rookie of the Week once (Feb. 6) ... Also garnered attention as the league Defensive Player of the Week (April 10) ... Made his collegiate debut in relief at Mercer (Feb. 4), making six saves after the Catamounts rallied from five goals down ... Went the distance against Holy Cross (Feb. 18), making 10 saves and surrendering eight goals ... Made a career-high 17 saves at Dartmouth (Feb. 28) ... In a win at Sacred Heart (March 11), made 15 saves ... Picked up the win at UMass Lowell (April 8) after making 16 stops including seven in the fourth quarter ... In that game Washuta had a .531 save percentage which was higher than any other America East goalie that weekend ... Was part of a Vermont group that started 3-0 for the first time since 2001.
BEFORE UVM: Comes to UVM from The Blake School in Minneapolis ... Played five seasons in goal with the Bears, captaining the squad in 2016 ... Earned MVP honors in 2015 and 2016 ... Was named to the All-State First Team ... Also was a four-time honoree of the All-Section First Team and two-time member of the All-IMAC Team ... Led Blake to four consecutive sectional championships (2013-16) ... Also played one season of hockey (2012-13).
PERSONAL: Is the son of Ken and Nadine Washuta ... Has two brothers, Harrison and Andrew ... Both brothers are 2015 alumni of Clarkson University and played lacrosse with the Golden Knights ... Was born in Princeton, New Jersey ... Participated in robotics at The Blake School, ultimately earning the Engineer Award (2015) and Leadership Award (2016) ... Intends to major in mechanical engineering.
