SENIOR SEASON (2016): Saw action on two games at Hartford and versus Binghamton ... Was first player to wear former Catamount John Scotnicki’s #30 jersey ... The jersey became the first honored uniform in program history in 2015 ... The player selected to wear this jersey exemplifies the same qualities Scotnicki displayed in his career at UVM, which are selflessness, support to teammates and peers, and pride in the program.

JUNIOR SEASON (2015): Made appearances at UMass Lowell and Binghamton … Made his Catamount debut at UMass Lowell.

BEFORE UVM: Came to Vermont from East Greenbush, New York and Columbia High School … Was a team captain and Unsung Hero Award winner as a goalie at Columbia … Made 167 saves and posted a .480 save percentage in 2011-12.
 
PERSONAL: Is the son of Michael and Heidi Buono of East Greenbush, New York … Has two siblings: Zach and Leah … His grandfather, Stephen, played basketball at Siena … Favorite sports team is Tottenham of the EPL.
