AS A SOPHOMORE (2010): Bernstein won the 2010 NCAA National Championship in the 20k freestyle on March 13 in Steamboat Springs, Colo., at Howelsen Hill … Became the first Catamount to win a national championship in the freestyle since Vermont Hall of Famer Thorodd Bakken '98 capped off a stretch of three straight titles in the freestyle in 1998 … Bernstein is the eighth different male Nordic skier to win a national championship in UVM history ...
