BEFORE VERMONT: Alvarez comes to UVM after attending Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena in Thuringia, Germany where he played club soccer … He graduated high school in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany ... Competed for FC Eilenburg in Germany.
 
PERSONAL: Son of Luis and Sigrid Aguilar Alvarez … Has three siblings, Nathalie, Johanna, and Christoph … He is pursuing a Master of Public Administration …  He has triple citizenship: German, Canadian, and Costa Rican. 
 
WHY VERMONT: “I chose UVM because it gives me the opportunity to combine my academic goals with an excellent Master of Public Administration program and a highly successful soccer program. I was also drawn to the values that both UVM and the soccer program represent. I am confident that this experience will help me grow both personally and academically while opening new perspectives for my future.”
