Was 16th in the 200m at the Beacon Invite with a time of 22.87s (Dec. 10) ... Finished fourth in the 200m at the Middlebury Snowflake (Jan. 14) ... SENIOR OUTDOOR SEASON (2022): Opened the outdoor season with a pair of second place finishes in the 100m (10.61s) and 200m (22.33s), and ran a leg on the winning 4x100-meter relay team at the UNH Outdoor Season Opener (Apr. 2) ... Posted times of 11.40s and 22.64s in the 100m and 200m, respectively, at the Mason Spring Invite (Apr. 9) ... Finished fifth in the 200m at the UMass Outdoor Invitational with a time of 22.48s (Apr. 16) ... Was fourth in the 100m (11.06s) and 200m (22.65s) at the George Davis Invite (Apr. 23) ... Ran a career-best 22.30s in the 200m prelims, and was on the runner-up 4x100-meter relay team at the America East Championships (May 7 & 8) ... Logged a personal-best 100m mark of 11.01s at the New England Championships (May 13).
SENIOR INDOOR SEASON (2022): Placed fifth in the 200m at the 2021-2022 Dartmouth Indoor Season Opener with a time of 22.84s, and ninth in the 60m with a time of 7.22s (Dec. 11) … At the Middlebury Winter Classic, he finished third in the 60m run with a time of 7.23s (Jan. 15) … Logged a time of 7.36s at the 2022 Boston University Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite to place 36th in the 60m (Feb. 5) … Later logged a 28th place finish in the 200m with a time of 22.81s and 18th in the 60m with a time of 7.34s at the Fastrack National Invite (Feb. 11)… Finished 2nd in the UVM-UNH Dual Meet in the 55m with a time of 6.82s (Feb. 13) … Ran a time of 22.66s in the 200m that placed him 21st, and a time of 7.32s that placed him 23rd in the 60m at the 2022 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships (Feb. 25 & 26) … Ran a time of 22.67s in the 200 during the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships
JUNIOR OUTDOOR SEASON (2021): Finished third in both the 100m and 200m at UMass Lowell (Mar. 26) ... Logged a time of 22.70s for second in the 200m and ran a leg on the winning 4x100m relay team at the Wildcat Invitational (Apr. 3) ... Was second in the 200m with a time of 22.49s and fifth in the 100m (11.15s) at the UVM Quad Meet (Apr. 10) ... Ran on the winning 4x100m relay team and was sixth in the 200m with a time of 22.86s at UMass (Apr. 18) ... Competed in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay at the America East Championships (May 1 & 2) ... Registered a personal-best 100m time of 11.04s for third at the Dartmouth Invitational, and ran on the winnig 4x100m relay team (May 7) ... SOPHOMORE INDOOR SEASON (2020): Opened the season with a fifth-place finish in the 60m dash and was also fifth in the 200m dash (23.19s) at Dartmouth (Dec. 14) ... Took second in the 60m dash with a time of 7.29s at the Middlebury Winterfell (Jan. 18) ... Ran a time of 22.72s in the 200m dash at the Terrier Classic (Jan. 25) ... Was fourth in the 200m dash at the Dartmouth Invitational (Feb. 8) ... Ran a personal-best 60m time of 7.25s at the America East Championships (Feb. 21).
FRESHMAN OUTDOOR SEASON (2019): Began the season with a 10th-place finish in the 200m dash (23.03s) and a 13th-place finish in the 100m dash at the UMass Lowell Invitational (Mar. 30) ... Took sixth in the 200m dash at the Dartmouth Invitational with a time of 23.07s (Apr. 12) ... Finished fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 22.69s at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invite (Apr. 20) ... Was on the fourth-place 4x100m relay team at the America East Championships (May 5).
FRESHMAN INDOOR SEASON (2019): Made his debut with a ninth-place finish in the 200m dash at Dartmouth (Dec. 8) ... Had fifth-place finishes in the 60m and 200m dashes at Middlebury Winterfell (Jan. 19) ... Took fifth in the 60m dash with a time of 7.28s at the Middlebury Invitational (Jan. 26) ... Won the 200m dash and took second in the 55m dash at the North Country All-Comers (Feb. 10).
BEFORE UVM: Came to UVM from Essex Junction, Vermont … Ran outdoor track for four years, ran indoor track for three years and played basketball for one year at Essex High School … Captained the indoor & outdoor track team as a junior and senior … Named to the 2016 All-Vermont Indoor Track Team … 2016 Division 1 Vermont state champion in the 100m dash … 2016 Essex Invite/NE Qualifier Champion in 100m dash.
PERSONAL: Chike is the son of Chris Asanya and Josie Thomas … Older sister, Chinelo ran for St. Lawrence University for four years and graduated in 2016 … Chose UVM because of the academic and athletic opportunities, coaching staff, and the large campus setting.
