Mallory Honan joined Vermont track & field as a volunteer assistant coach in September 2017. In her role, she will focus on horizontal jumps.
Honan graduated from the University of Vermont in May 2017 with a bachelor of science in animal science. She is continuing her education at UVM as a graduate teaching assistant in the animal and veterinary science department while completing her master of science focusing on ruminant nutrition physiology.
Honan was a standout on the UVM track team during her undergraduate career and served as a captain during her junior and senior years. She is ranked in the all-time top-5 lists in the 60 meter hurdles (8.74), 100 meter hurdles (14.47), indoor long jump (19-4), and outdoor long jump (19-5.25).
She coached horizontal jumps at nearby South Burlington High School from 2015-17. During that time, she coached two athletes to qualifying and competing in the long jump at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals.
