SENIOR OUTDOOR SEASON (2023): Began the outdoor campaign with a mark of 6.42m in the long jump at UMass Lowell Invite to place ninth (Mar. 24) ... Was third in the pole vault at the UVM Quad Meet (Apr. 8) ... Finished second in the decathlon at the UMass Multi Meet, posting a score of 5,434 points (Apr. 12-13) ... Placed sixth in the decathlon at the America East Championships with a score of 5,288 points (May 6 & 7) ... Recorded 5,390 points in the decathlon at the New England Championships to finish in sixth place.
SENIOR INDOOR SEASON (2023): Opened the season with a second-place finish in the 55H at UNH (Dec. 4) ... Placed fifth in the heptathlon at URI with a score of 4,052 points (Dec. 9) ... Recorded a fifth-place finish in the high jump, sixth-place finish in the 60H at the Middlebury Snowflake (Jan. 14) ... Was eighth in the long jump at the Middlebury Winter Classic (Jan. 21) ... Finished fifth in the heptathlon at the America East Championships, posting a score of 4,266 points (Feb. 18 & 19) ... Was fourth in the heptathlon at the IC4A Championships with a score of 4,206 points (Mar. 3-5).
JUNIOR SEASON (2022): Did not compete.
SOPHOMORE OUTDOOR SEASON (2021): Won the long jump with a mark of 6.20m in the season-opening meet at UMass Lowell (Mar. 26) ... Was third in pole vault at the UVM Quad Meet (Apr. 10) ... Finished seventh in the decathlon at the UMass Multi Meet with a score of 5,421 points, and posted a personal-best 400m time of 51.93s (Apr. 13 & 14) ... Placed eighth in the decathlon at the America East Championships with a personal-best score of 5,462 points (May 1 & 2).
FRESHMAN INDOOR SEASON (2020): Made his collegiate debut with a 12th-place finish in the shot put at Dartmouth (Dec. 14) ... Ran a leg on the fifth-place 4x200 relay team at the Dartmouth Relays (Jan. 10) ... Was third in the 60m hurdles at the Middlebury Winterfell (Jan. 18) ... Ran on the winning 4x200 relay team at the Middlebury Invitational (Jan. 25) ... Finished 13th in the heptathlon at the America East Championships with a score of 3,429 points and a personal-best long jump of 6.30m (Feb. 21 & 22).
BEFORE VERMONT: From Essex Junction, Vt… Competed in Track, Football and Volleyball at Essex High School… Captain of Indoor and Outdoor track team from 2017-2019… All-state for volleyball in 2019… Holds the Vermont state record for the 4x100m relay… Part of the National Honor Society and graduated cum laude of his high school class.
PERSONAL: Son of Emilie and Donald Baker… Has one sibling, Miranda (UVM ’19) … Receiving a master’s in business administration… Chose Vermont as it has been home for his entire life making it feel like a natural transition. The athletic and academic opportunities created a perfect environment to succeed… Lists Ashton Eaton as his biggest inspiration as an athlete… Lists Game of Thrones as favorite TV show, Gianmarco Tamberi as his favorite athlete, and the Patriots as favorite sports team.
