2012 OUTDOOR SEASON: Competed in seven events ... Set a personal record with a time of 51.01 seconds in the 400-meter dash at the 2012 America East Outdoor Championships and placed 17th ... Finished seventh in the 4x400-meter relay team at the outdoor championships with a season-best time of 3:22.13 ... Ran a career-best in the 200-meter at Dartmouth with a time of 24.28 to finish 13th ... Posted a season-best time of 1:58.54 in the 800-meter and won the event at the Middlebury Invitational.

2012 INDOOR SEASON: Competed in eight events ... Set a new personal record in the 500-meter with a time of 1:06.20 in the preliminaries at the 2012 America East Indoor Championships to place 12th ... Also a member of the 4x400-meter relay team which finished seventh at the indoor championship meet ... Helped the 4x400 team to break the school record with a time of 3:19.29 the following week at the 2012 New England Indoor Championships to place 12th overall ... Ran a personal-best time of 1:24.18 to finish fourth overall in the 600-meter at the New Hampshire tri-meet.

2011 OUTDOOR SEASON: Competed in six meets … He set a personal best in the 800m with a time of 1:58.25 at the UMass Pre-Conference Invitational … At the 2011 America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships he finished 23rd in the 800m with a time of 1:59.71 … He also competed as a member of the 4x400m relay team that finished seventh overall … At the 2011 New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships, he finished 10th overall with the 4x400m relay team.

2011 INDOOR SEASON: Competed in eight meets this season … Set a personal best in the 600m with a time of 1:26.19 at tri-meet against UNH and Maine (Feb. 12) … At the 2011 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships he finished 20th in the 800m with a time of 1:58.64 … He also competed as a member of the 4x400m relay team that finished eighth overall … At the 2011 New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships he finished 16th overall in the 4x400m relay … He also competed in the 4,000m distance medley finishing 13th overall.

BEFORE VERMONT: Came to Vermont from Drury High School in North Adams, Mass. ... Was a member of the track and soccer teams ... Captained the track and field team in 2007 ... Was a finalist in the 400m at the Bay State Games.

PERSONAL: Is the son of Paul and Erin Hopkins ... Has three siblings, Nick, Katie and Becca ... Katie also attended UVM ... Is a biology major.
