Was 11th in the 800m at the Commonwealth Invite (Apr. 15) ... Finished 18th in the 1500m at the Rutgers Relays (Apr. 22) ... SENIOR INDOOR SEASON (2023): Opened the season with a runner-up finish in the 1000m at UNH (Dec. 4) ... Was 11th in the mile with a time of 4:23.37 at the Beacon Invite (Dec. 10) ... Placed sixth in the 600m at the Middlebury Winterfell (Jan. 22) ... Won the 800m at the Middlebury Invite (Jan. 29) ... Posted an 800m time of 1:58.98 at the Fastrack National Invite (Feb. 11) ... FRESHMAN INDOOR SEASON (2020): Made his debut with a fourth-place finish in the 800m at Dartmouth (Dec. 14) ... Finished fourth in the 600m dash at the Middlebury Winterfell (Jan. 18) ... Posted a third-place finish in the 800m and was on the winning 4x400m relay team at UNH (Jan. 25) ... Ran a personal-best 800m time of 1:58.85 at the NEICAAA Championships (Jan. 31) ... Finished sixth in the 500m at the Dartmouth Invitational (Feb. 8) ... Registered an 800m time of 1:59.80 at the Valentine Invite (Feb. 15).
BEFORE UVM: Came to UVM from Melrose, Massachusetts … Played football for two years, soccer for one year, and ran track for five years at Melrose High School … In 2017 his football team was division four state champions … Captained indoor and outdoor track in 2019 … Was named a Middlesex league all-star in both indoor and outdoor track from 2017-19 … Holds the Melrose High School 400 meter hurdle record.
PERSONAL: Liam is the son of Peter and Susan Rittenburg … Has a sister, Olivia who attends Berklee … Father, Peter ran track and field and played football for Harvard … Grandfather, Robert, also ran track for Harvard … Chose UVM because it has good academics and athletics and because he loves the campus and the city of Burlington … majoring in economics with a minor in nutrition.
