SOPHOMORE INDOOR SEASON (2020): Opened the season with a sixth-place finish and a time of 8:54.86 in the 3000m run at Dartmouth (Dec. 14) ... Finished 10th in the mile at the Middlebury Winterfell (Jan. 18) ... Logged a ninth-place finish in the 3000m run at UNH (Jan. 25) ... Ran a personal-best 5000m time of 15:10.50 for 10th place at the NEICAAA Championships (Feb. 1) ... Logged a personal-best mile time of 4:29.62 for 11th place at the Dartmouth Invitational (Feb. 8) ... Ran a 3000m time of 8:56.18 for 86th at the Valentine Invite (Feb. 15) ... Finished 19th in the 5000m run with a time of 15:26.21 at the America East Championships (Feb. 22).

FRESHMAN OUTDOOR SEASON (2019): Registered a time of 15:38.06 for 13th place in the 5000m run at the Dartmouth Invitational (Apr. 12) ... Finished in ninth place in the 5000m run at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational (Apr. 20) ... Was 23rd in the 5000m run (15:36.56) at the America East Championships (May 5).

FRESHMAN INDOOR SEASON (2019): Made his debut with a sixth-place finish and a 5000m time of 15:35.59 at Dartmouth (Dec. 8) ... Logged a 3000m time of 8:58.15 at the Dartmouth Relays (Jan. 13) ... Finished eighth in the 3000m run at UNH (Jan. 26) ... Ran a 5000m time of 15:29.55 for 19th place at the New England Championships (Feb. 2) ... Won the 3000m run with a time of 8:56.10 at the North Country All-Comers (Feb. 10) ... Ran the 3000m in 8:45.20 for 27th at the America East Championships (Feb. 23).

BEFORE UVM: Came to UVM from Acton, Massachusetts … Ran cross country, indoor track and outdoor track for Acton Boxborough Regional High School … Won runner of the year for cross country and indoor track in 2017 … Was captain of cross country in 2016 and 2017 and for outdoor track in 2018 … His team won their outdoor league championship in 2017 and 2018 … Won the Dual County League All-Star for cross country in 2017, indoor track in 2018 and in outdoor track 2018.

PERSONAL: Liam is the son of Ellen and Aiden Smith … has a sister, Bronwyn who does ballet at Butler University … Chose UVM for its location and culture and enjoys that campus is very close to the mountains and the lake so it's easy to escape … majoring in Forestry.
