CAREER HONORS:
EISA Men's Nordic Rookie of the Year (2026)
EISA All-East First Team (2026)

FIRST-YEAR SEASON (2026): Kretzschmar competed in five of six EISA carnivals throughout his first-year season and was named to the UVM roster competing in the 2026 NCAA Championships ... He notched four podiums with a personal best finish of first place in the 3x5 classic relay at the Williams Carnival ... He also competed in the 2026 NCAA Championships placing 15th in the 7.5k classic and 21st in the 20k freestyle mass start ...  Kretzschmar was named to the EISA All-East First Team and was named the EISA Men’s Nordic rookie of the year ... Kretzschmar notched his first EISA podium in his first career EISA race, finishing third in the 10k Classic during day one of the St. Lawrence Carnival ... During the Dartmouth Carnival, Kretzschmar placed eighth on day one racing in the 7.5k Classic and sixth in the 15k Freestyle mass start during day two ... At the UVM Carnival, Kretzschmar placed sixth in the Classic sprints during day one, and secured his second podium appearance of the season on day two placing third in the 10k Freestyle ... Kretzschmar landed on the podium both days of the Williams Carnival, finishing in second on day one in the 10k Freestyle and helping his relay squad win the 3x5 Classic relay outright in first place ... On day one of the Middlebury Carnival/EISA Championships, he finished the 7.5k Classic in 13th place. 

BEFORE VERMONT: Graduated High School from Elite School of Sports - Oberwiesenthal in 2022 ... Kretzschmar was fourth in the European Cup and was a German youth Champion and Vice Champion ... Also played Volleyball from 2018 through 2022 as the Libero. 

PERSONAL: Son of Kai and Doreen Kretzschmar ... Majoring in Business ... Chose UVM because of the high level skiing that it is known for and apart from that the community is great and it is efficient for being a student athlete ... Favorite sports team is UVM Soccer ... Favorite movie is Lord of the Rings ... His biggest influence as an athlete is Ben Odgen, a UVM alumni, because he showed that it is possible to ski at a world class level at UVM.
