SOPHOMORE OUTDOOR SEASON (2019): Recorded a fifth-place finish in the 400m hurdles at the UMass Lowell Invitational (Mar. 30) ... Registered a sixth-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.72 at the Dartmouth Invitational (Apr. 12) ... Finished third in the 400m hurdles and ran a leg on the 4x400m relay team that won at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational (Apr. 20).
SOPHOMORE INDOOR SEASON (2019): Opened the season with a third-place finish in the 500m (1:08.14) at Dartmouth (Dec. 8) ... Took sixth in the 600m at the Middlebury Winterfell (Jan. 19) ... Ran a personal-best 600m time of 1:24.63 to finish ninth at the Penn State National Invite (Jan. 26).
FRESHMAN OUTDOOR SEASON (2018): Finished third in the 400H at the Minuteman Invitational (Apr. 7) ... BEFORE UVM: Came to UVM from Westfield, New Jersey … Ran cross country, indoor track and outdoor track as well as played a year of lacrosse at Westfield High School … Captained indoor track in 2016-17 and outdoor track in 2017 … His 4x800 indoor track team received all-state selection in 2016-17 … His 4x400 team won their heat in the 2017 Penn Relays … His 4x200 team holds the school record … Student-Athlete of the Year (2017) … Earned All-Conference Honorable mention (2016) … Named to the third-team all-county in 2016, first team all conference in 2017 and second team all county in 2017.
PERSONAL: Cam is the son of Yvette Scola and Dennis McLaughlin … Has a younger sister, Greta … Grandfather, Bennett McLaughlin, played football for Delaware … Chose UVM because he loved the academic experience UVM offered and the campus and thought it would be a great place to compete in college … majoring in business administration (finance) with a minor in sociology.
