Benito Cecenas is in his first year as an Athletic Performance Coaching Assistant at the University of Vermont. He is responsible for assisting the athletic performance coaches in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs.

Cecenas holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Movement Science, with a minor in coaching, from the University of Vermont. He performed a year-long internship with UVM Athletic Performance beginning in the Fall of 2017. Cecenas has assisted in the implementation of training programs for men’s lacrosse, track & field, men’s basketball, nordic skiing, and field hockey.

Cecenas is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and holds a Sport Performance Coach (Level 1) certification through USAW. He plans to pursue a master’s degree in strength and conditioning in 2019.
