Stefanie Murphy, a former Boston College standout and graduate assistant, joined the women's basketball coaching staff in July of 2017. She completed her first year on the staff following the 2017-18 season.
Murphy was a forward at BC from 2007-11 and ranks as the fourth leading scorer in program history with 1,722 points. She sits second in rebounds (937) and games played (132), third in field goals made (695), and fifth in blocks. A former ACC Rookie of the Year and two-time All-ACC Honorable Mention, Murphy closed her Eagles career with 29 double-doubles and scored in double-figures 87 times.
After helping the Eagles win 20 or more games three times in her four seasons, the Londonderry, New Hampshire native played four years professionally overseas. In the 2014-15 season, she led Sepsi-Sic Romania to the championship game and was named the league MVP. She previously spent half a year playing in France, a season and a half in Slovakia, and one season in Hungary.
Murphy moved back to the United States in 2015 and served two years as a graduate assistant at her alma mater under Erik Johnson. She graduated from BC with a degree in communications in 2011 and recently earned her master's degree with a concentration in leadership.
