2012 OUTDOOR SEASON: Competed in seven events in the discus throw ... Posted a career-best throw of 42.13 meters at the 2012 New England Outdoor Championships to place fifth ... Earned All-New England honors with her performance ... Threw a distance of 39.49 at the 2012 America East Outdoor Championships and finished sixth to score for Vermont ... Threw over 40 meters for the second time in her career to win the discus at the Catamount Invitational (40.73) ... Was third overall at the Northeastern Spring Open with a mark of 39.04.
2011 OUTDOOR SEASON: Competed in eight events during the outdoor season … Established a career best mark of 39.45m in the hammer throw at the Northeastern Spring Open finishing seventh overall … At the 2011 America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships she set a new career best in the discus throw as she topped the 40-meter mark for the first time in her career with a mark of 40.70m earning her a third place finish and All-America East honors.
2011 INDOOR SEASON: Competed in six events during the indoor season … Established a career best mark of 12.02m in the weight throw at the UNH Invitational (Feb. 12) finishing 11th overall.
BEFORE VERMONT: Came to Vermont from Fall Mountain Regional High School in Langdon, N.H. ... Was a member of the track, soccer and basketball teams ... Captained the track and field team her senior year ... Won the coach's award in 2005 and 2007 ... Was named Team MVP in 2006.
PERSONAL: Is the daughter of Bruce and Heidi Ferland of Charlestown, N.H. ... Has three siblings: Zachary, Jordan and Morgan ... Zachary is a member of the soccer team at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. ... Is a biology major.
