2012 OUTDOOR SEASON: Competed in eight events ... Finished 13th overall in the 10,000-meter run at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships, making up nearly 10 places from the beginning of the race with a time of 33:42.03 ... Set a new personal record by more than 20 seconds and also met the Olympic Trials B standard in her NCAA national debut ... Placed second by only 0.56 seconds in the 10K at the 2012 NCAA East Preliminary Round with a time of 34:19.38 to qualify for the NCAA Finals ... Was third overall in the 1500-meter run at the 2012 New England Outdoor Championships with a personal-record time of 4:32.36 to earn All-England honors ... Also earned a fourth place finish in 9:11.37 with the 4x800-meter relay team at New England's ... Finished third in the 5000-meter at the 2012 America East Outdoor Championships with a time of 16:18.48 ... Broke the America East record in the event along with the top two finishers and earned all-conference honors ... Ran the second best 10K time of her career (34:15.12) at the Mt. SAC Relays to place seventh overall ... Was second in the 1500-meter at Dartmouth with a time of 4:36.29 ... Placed third in the 10000 at the George Davis Invitational in 9:57.83 ... 2012 INDOOR SEASON: Competed in seven events ... Placed second overall in the 3000-meter run at the 2012 America East Indoor Championships with a personal-record time of 9:33.63 to earn all-conference honors ... Also broke the school record in the one mile run with a time of 4:49.05 to earn fifth place at America East ... Helped to set a new school record in the distance medley relay at the 2012 New England Indoor Championships with a time of 11:44.77 to finish second overall ... Broke the indoor school record in the 5000-meter run the following week to become the ECAC champion at the 2012 ECAC Indoor Championships with a time of 16:25.36 ... Placed fifth in the 5000 at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational with a mark of 16:33.64 ... Earned second place in the one mile with a time of 4:55.96 at the Joe Donahue Indoor Games ... Also won with the DMR team at Joe Donahue with a mark of 11:55.83 ... Captured the one mile title at Dartmouth in 4:59.68 ... Won the 3000 in her season debut at home against Hartford in 9:54.69.
2011 OUTDOOR SEASON: Competed in six events during the outdoor season … Set a career best in the 1,500m with a mark of 4:33.43 at the Princeton Larry Ellis Friday Night Races (April 22) … She also set a career best in the 10,000m at the 53rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays (April 14) with a time of 34:43.23 … She qualified for the NCAA East Regional with her time in the 10,000m … At the America East Championships she finished third in the 5000m with a time of 16:37.78, earning All-America East honors … At the New England Championships she finished sixth in the 1500m with a time of 4:33.73 … In the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round Powers finished 16th in a time of 34:02.56.
2011 INDOOR SEASON: Competed in nine meets during the indoor campaign … At the America East Championships she finished sixth in the 3000m with a time of 9:43.57 … She also competed as a member of the 4,000m distance medley finishing third overall … At the New England Championships she earned All-New England honors finishing fourth in the one mile with a time of 4:50.96 … Powers also competed in the ECAC Championships in the 3000m … She finished fourth overall in 9:34.82.
BEFORE VERMONT: Came to UVM from Indian Hill High School, in Cincinnati, Ohio ... Was a member of the cross-country, track and field and dance teams ... Was part of the district champions in the 4x800 in 2007 ... Team set the high school record in the 4x800 relay.
PERSONAL: Born in Cincinnati, Ohio ... Daughter of Tom and Ann Powers ... Has three younger brothers Connor, Logan, Reid and two sisters Madison, and Blair ... Is a nutrition and food sciences major.
