Final Results: Men | Women
RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The University of Vermont men's and women's cross country teams closed out the 2014 season at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Friday afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park. The women placed 20th overall with 611 points, while the men finished 26th with 693 points.

Junior
Nikki Braceras led the women's team with a time of 21:39.38 on the 6K course for 62nd place, and classmate
Alicia Clark followed in 80th overall with a mark of 21:50.45. Taking third on the team was
Hilary Rawding in spot 133 with a time of 22:37.40, while
Amber Peirsol took 159th with her mark of 23:01.26.

Julie Richer posted a time of 23:11.17 and was 177th overall, and
Sydney Durand followed 15 spots later with a mark of 23:22.80.
Denali Balser rounded out the squad's top-7 with a time of 24:05.15. Kate Avery won the individual championship for Iona, which also claimed the team title with 91 points.

The men's team, which was racing without its top runner
Dan Moroney, was led by
Dylan Souder on Friday. The senior paced the Catamounts with a time of 32:00.62 to take 89th overall in the 10K event.
Thomas O'Leary was second on the team as he claimed 130th with a time of 32:41.18.Â

Patrick Coppinger (32:53.48) and
Mike Baccari (33:04.64) followed in spots 143 and 159 for Vermont, while rookie
Noah Bell (33:12.93) finished fifth on the team in 172nd.
Fletcher Hazlehurst (33:35.67) and
Aaron Lucci (34:11.64) rounded out the top-7 for the men. Iona's Jake Byrne won the men's race, while the team title went to Syracuse with 45 points.
The Vermont men's and women's track & field programs begin the 2014-15 season with an indoor home meet against Hartford and Merrimack on Saturday, Dec. 6. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Gardner-Collins Indoor Track.
