America East Release
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Alicia Clark,
Dan Moroney, and
Dylan Souder were all named to the America East Cross Country All-Academic Team on Wednesday as the conference announced its 23 honorees for the 2014 season. All three runners earned All-Conference honors at the America East Cross Country Championships on Nov. 1 in Orono, Maine.

Clark was selected to the All-Academic Team for the second straight season as she led the women's team to a third place finish at America East with 101 points. The junior earned All-Conference honors for the first time in her career with an eighth place finish in the 5K race. Clark paced the women's team throughout the year, posting titles in two of her first three meets of the season. Clark has a near-perfect 3.98 GPA as a business administration major.

Moroney was sixth overall in the men's 8K at America East to earn All-Conference honors for the first time. The junior broke the course record at Brown's Rothenberg Run on Oct. 17 and won the individual title in a time of 24:43.9 at Goddard State Park. Moroney won a total of four races during the 2014 campaign, including the first three of the season for the Catamounts. Moroney maintains a 3.73 GPA with a major in medical laboratory science

Souder placed seventh right behind Moroney at the America East Championships for an All-Conference performance. The senior also posted a victory at Vermont's home meet against UMass Lowell on Sept. 27 and was 13th to lead the team at the New England Championships. Moroney and Souder are first-time honorees on the All-Academic Team in cross country. Souder owns a 3.66 GPA as a biochemistry major.

To be nominated for the distinction, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve for their team and participate in at least 50 percent of their team's events. In the classroom, student-athletes must have a 3.30 GPA and have completed at least one calendar year at their institution. Freshmen are not eligible for consideration.
