To earn a spot on the squad, a student-athlete must achieve a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which he was actively competing. DeCenzo and Lenz also earned Distinguished Scholar status for posting a 3.0 GPA in each semester over four varsity seasons.
During the team's 50th anniversary season, the Catamounts posted their first 20-win campaign since 2009 and earned the school's sixth berth in the NCAA Tournament. UVM collected a pair of Hockey East All-Star honors and had a player win the league's Rookie of the Year Award for the first time.
