BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont men's soccer team hosts the 24th edition of the Morgan Stanley Windjammer Classic on Friday (Sept. 5) and Sunday (Sept. 7) at Virtue Field.

UVMathletics.com or in person one hour before kickoff the day of the game at the Gutterson Fieldhouse Box Office.

NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA National PollVermont is receiving votes in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA National Poll after starting the 2014 season with a 2-0 record and wins over James Madison (W, 2-0) and Appalachian State (W, 3-1) and winning the JMU Invitational.

Brian Wright collected all-tournament team honors. Wright scored twice and added an assist in the two games.
ABOUT THE FIELDLa Salle opened the 2014 season with a 1-0 loss over Siena on Sunday. The Explorers lost nine seniors to graduation from last year's team that went 8-8-4 overall and 5-3-1 in the Atlantic 10, but return seven seniors to the squad. La Salle also adds 11 first-year players to the roster. Joe Farrell headlines the returnees. He was named MVP of the National Premier Soccer League U23 Championship game during the summer and is a two-time NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region selection. Also returning to the mix for the Explorers are Dan Caya and Matt Robinson, both were Soccer 6 All-Rookie team members last season.
St. Francis Brooklyn enters the tournament with an 0-2 mark. The Terriers dropped a 1-0 decision at St. Joseph's to open the year and also fell 1-0 in double-overtime to Manhattan College. The Terriers are the defending Northeast Conference Champions, going 12-5-1 overall and 4-3-0 in league last season. St. Francis returns 16 letterwinners, including five starters and 68 percent of its offense for 2014.
UMass Lowell opened the season with a 5-0 loss at Monmouth and a 2-0 loss at Seton Hall. The River Hawks, who are in their second season as a member of the America East Conference and competing at the Division I level, were picked to finish eighth in the America East Preseason Poll. Head coach Christian Figueroa adds 21 newcomers to the team to a team that went 3-14-1 overall. UML also returns three all-conference selections in Homero Morais, Erin Martin and Wuilito Fernandes.
