BURLINGTON, Vt. – University of Vermont men's soccer head coach Adrian Dubois has announced the hiring of Randy Coble as an assistant coach, brining a familiar face back to Catamount Country ahead of the 2026 season.

"Randy's experience, passion, and commitment to this program helped build the foundation for its success, and his love for Vermont soccer is unmatched. He's a proven winner, an outstanding coach, and an even better mentor. Bringing him back is an incredible addition to our staff and our program."
 
Coble returns to Vermont after serving on the Catamounts coaching staff from 2012-2023, where he helped establish one of the most successful eras in program history. During his tenure, UVM captured three America East regular season championships (2012, 2017, 2019), two America East Tournament titles (2015, 2021), and qualified for the conference tournament in every season. He was also a member of the 2012 America East Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
Widely regarded as one of the top goalkeeper coaches in the region, Coble played a key role in developing three America East Goalkeepers of the Year in Conor Leland, Aron Runarsson, and Nate Silveira. Under his guidance, Vermont goalkeepers combined for 48 shutouts while helping anchor championship-winning teams.
 
A St. Albans, Vermont native, Coble is known for his emphasis on leadership, culture, and mentoring championship-caliber teams. His return reunites him with member of the Vermont coaching staff, having previously worked alongside both Rory Twomey and Head Coach Adrian Dubois during his first stint with the Catamounts.
 
Before arriving at Vermont, Coble spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Saint Michael's College, where he helped the Purple Knights post 20 shutouts in 39 matches. He also served on the women's soccer staff at Old Dominion University, working primarily with the defense and goalkeepers.
 
A 2004 graduate of Castleton University, Coble was a three-year member of the Spartans men's soccer team and helped lead the program to consecutive North Atlantic Conference championship appearances, including a conference title in 2003. He later earned a master's degree in criminal justice from Boston University in 2014.
