Brian Wright, one of the top forwards in America East, has tallied a team-leading 14 points in the last six matches. With a goal against Binghamton on Saturday, Wright reached the 50-point plateau, becoming the 12th player in program history to reach the milestone. Wright has 50 points in 47 career games on 21 goals and eight assists. He needs two more points and one more goal to move into UVM's top-10 list in each category. Wright ranks second in America East in goals and third in points this season.
THE CATAMOUNTSVermont (5-4-1, 0-1-0 AE) suffered its first loss at Virtue Field on Saturday with a 2-1 setback to Binghamton in the America East Conference opener for both teams. The Bearcats held off a late rally by the Catamounts to post the victory.
Brian Wright scored in the 86
th minute, but UVM couldn't complete the comeback effort. Wright leads the team with 14 points and six goals.
Stefan Lamanna has handed out a team-high three assists and ranks second on the team in scoring with seven points.
Greg Walton is the team's top goalkeeper and owns a 1.49 goals against average.
ABOUT DARTMOUTH Dartmouth, 4-3-1 (1-0-0 Ivy League) posted its second straight win with a 1-0 victory over Princeton to open league play. The Big Green and Catamounts have one opponent in common, Hofstra. Dartmouth shutout the Pride 3-0 on September 26, while Vermont fell, 4-0, at Hofstra in the second game of the season on August 30. The Big Green also recorded a 3-0 clean sheet against Albany earlier this year. Eduvie Ikoba leads the team in scoring with seven points on a pair of goals and three assists. Stefan Cleveland has played the majority of minutes in net and owns a 0.80 goals against average.
THE SERIESThe Big Green own a 19-13-6 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to 1977. Dartmouth is 5-0-1 against Vermont in the last six matches and earned a 2-1 overtime victory against the Catamounts at Virtue Field last season. UVM's last victory over Dartmouth was a 2-1 win in Burlington in 2008.
ABOUT HARTFORDThe Hawks begin the week with a 4-3-3 record and opened America East action with a 1-1 draw against defending America East Champion UMBC in Hartford on Saturday. Javoni Simms, one of the top forwards in America East, leads the Hawks in scoring with 10 points on five goals. Brian Richards has handed out a team-leading three assists and has seven points on the year. David MacKinnon is the only goalkeeper to play for Hartford, he owns a 1.08 goals against average.
THE SERIESVermont owns a 15-11-8 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to 1984. The Catamounts are 6-2-2 in the last 10 matches against Hartford, but have dropped two straight. UVM fell 1-0 to the Hawks in Burlington last season.
