HANOVER, N.H. – Jack Korzelius tallied the eventual game-winning goal with 3:24 remaining in the contest as Dartmouth held on for a 16-15 victory over Vermont in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Tuesday at Scully-Fahey Field.

Cam Milligan tallied eight points on three goals and five assists for UVM in a follow-up to his career-high 10 points last time out against UMass Lowell. Sophomore
Ian MacKay added five points on two goals and three assists, while four other Catamounts registered multi-goal efforts, including
Michael Clarke (3 g, 1 ast), who led UVM with a pair of scores in the final period.
Adam Fishman notched a game-high five goals, while Wiley Osborne and Korzelius chipped in with three apiece. Osborne also added four assists in the contest.
Jon Kaplan, who made 18 saves in the tilt, took the loss in net for Vermont despite collecting his sixth double-digit save performance of the season. Blair Friedensohn stopped nine shots in the winning effort for Dartmouth.
Vermont (3-7) opened a 5-2 lead midway through the first period behind scores from five different players and three points total from Milligan. Dartmouth responded with three straight goals, including a pair from Fishman, to tie things up, 5-5, and proceeded to add the final two tallies of the period to take a 7-5 lead into the second.
The Catamounts regained the lead with three straight goals in the opening 2:15 of the second quarter as
Matt Gudas, Mackay and
James Barlow recorded a goal apiece to push UVM ahead, 8-7.
Dartmouth (3-3) answered the UVM run with three consecutive goals in a span of under two minutes to move back in front, 10-8, with 8:42 to play in the half. Barlow and Evan Key traded goals in the final minutes of the period, and the Big Green headed into the locker room with an 11-9 advantage.
Early in the third period, Vermont received goals from Milligan and
Dyson White to even the score at 11-11. Milligan then added his third goal of the contest at the 5:13 mark to give the Catamounts a one-goal lead, which they held onto for the remainder of the frame. Kaplan made seven saves to keep the Big Green off the board in the third.
Clarke's goal at the 10:36 mark of the fourth quarter gave the Catamounts a two-goal advantage, 14-12, but Dartmouth responded with three straight scores to retake the lead.
Clarke answered again for the Catamounts with the game-tying goal with 4:19 remaining off a feed from Milligan, as UVM evened the score at 15-15.
Just 30 seconds later, Korzelius tallied an unassisted goal to put the Big Green back ahead by one score.
Dartmouth turned the ball over on a 30-second shot clock violation with 26 seconds showing on the clock, but Vermont wasn't able to find the equalizing goal off the turnover, eventually falling by a final of 16-15.
