HIGH POINT, N.C. – Senior captain
Jessica Roach tallied a career-high six goals to power Vermont to a 13-11 victory at High Point in women's lacrosse action Wednesday night at Vert Stadium. The Catamounts improved to 3-2 on the year, while High Point dropped to 1-5 overall.
Roach netted three goals in both periods as she set a new career-high for scores in a single game. The senior moved into sole possession of fifth place on the program's all-time goals list with 109 career tallies.

Marcie Marino registered four points on the night with three goals and one assist, as she collected her second three-score game of the season.
Danielle Seifert chipped in with a pair of goals, and
Alison Bolt and
Emma Tizard notched the other Catamount scores in the tilt.
Four Panthers collected multi-goal efforts on the night, led by Leah Pace (3 g, 1 ast) and Emily Meier (2 g, 2 ast), who combined for eight points to pace the squad.
Meg Hopkins posted a season-best 12 saves for the Catamounts to register her third win of the campaign. Her counterpart, Julia Burns, stopped seven shots in the losing effort for the Panthers.
The Catamounts tallied two of the game's opening three goals, as Roach and Marino each found the back of the net in the first three minutes of play. High Point responded with three of the next four goals to jump back out ahead of Vermont, 4-3, at the midway mark of the first half.
UVM dominated the remainder of the period, tallying the final six goals of the half to take a 9-4 lead. Roach and Seifert each netted a pair of goals during the run, and the Catamounts headed into the break with a five-goal advantage.
High Point registered the first three goals of the second half to cut its deficit to 9-7 with 17:23 left, before Roach ended the Panthers' run with her fourth goal of the tilt.
Erica Perrotta and Emily Meier tallied a goal apiece to bring High Point within one score, 10-9, but Roach and Marino answered for the Catamounts to extend their lead back to three, 12-9, with just over 10 minutes to play in the contest.
After a pair of High Point goals brought the Panthers back within striking distance once again, Roach added her sixth goal of the game with 3:42 remaining to put Vermont ahead, 13-11.
The Catamount defense held strong for the remainder of play to secure the team's third win of the season.
