Winthrop improved to 5-1 with the win, while Vermont fell to 3-3 overall.
Kasmarik tallied a game-high six points on five goals and one assist, and Yeager added four scores on the afternoon to help pace the Eagles. Danielle Ellis chipped in with five points on three goals and a pair of assists.
Vanessa VanderZalm led the Catamount attack with a goal and one assist, while
Alison Bolt,
Jessica Roach and
Elena McWright tallied the other scores for UVM. The goal for McWright was the first of her career.
Alaina Girani earned the win in goal for Winthrop, stopping seven shots in the contest. Her counterpart,
Meg Hopkins, took the loss despite a nine-save effort.
Kasmarik and Roach traded goals in the opening five minutes of play, before Winthrop tallied the next two scores, including Kasmarik's second of the day, to take a 3-1 lead.
Bolt notched a goal off a feed from
Danielle Seifert at the 20:55 mark to cut UVM's deficit to 3-2, but the Eagles responded with the final four goals of the half to head into the break with a 7-2 advantage.
Vermont tallied two of the opening four goals in the second half, including one from VanderZalm and McWright's first-ever goal with UVM, and cut its deficit to 9-4 with 21:05 to play.
That was as close as Vermont would get, as Winthrop controlled play for the remainder of the contest. Yeager and Kasmarik combined to tally five goals in the second period to put the game out of reach and help the Eagles to victory.
UVM returns to Burlington to host Quinnipiac on Wednesday, March 11 at 3 p.m. The contest will be streamed live for free via CatamounTV.com.
