Hartford posted the only goal of the evening in the 83rd minute. The Hawks set up their offense in the box with a throw-in. After UVM's defense cleared the throw away, the loft came down to the foot of Quenten Swift. The senior ripped a one-timer into the bottom left corner of the net for his second goal of the year.
Â
The Hawks nearly added an insurance goal three minutes later from Gael Kisombe Samuna. The freshman midfielder received a pass in the six-yard box and lined a shot on goal.

Elliot Maker looked for the equalizer on a low shot, but the attempt was stopped by Slayton.
Â
A minute later,
Shane Haley gave everyone in the crowd an optical illusion. The senior bent a line drive over a diving Slayton and just inches too high of the crossbar for an empty trip.
Â
As the minutes continued to tick away,
Mikel Kabala had a promising attempt as he kicked a left-footed shot to the near post but could not squeak his shot into the net. Â
Â
Vermont used a hurry-up offense in the final minute with a pair of corner kicks, but the Hartford defense knocked away any dangerous scoring attacks. With 12 seconds remaining, Kitson tried to come through with a header but the shot bounced too wide.
