TWO TIME'S THE CHARM
Brian Wright has posted nine goals during his senior campaign and only three one more goals to have consecutive 10-goal seasons. Wright would become only the fourth player in program history to have back-to-back 10-goal seasons. He would join the exclusive club with Peter Breen (1971-72), John Koerner (1974-75), and Mike Mason (1988-89).
CAN I GET SOME ASSIST-ANCE?
Wright has the opportunity to join another list by the end of the year. With one more assist, he would move into a second place tie and become only the fourth Catamount to record 10 or more assists in a season. Juan Peralta holds the single-season record with 11 assists in 2011 while Jordan Crasilneck (2005, 2008) and Roberto Beall (1989) trail with 10 assists.
25-POINT SCORERS
For Wright and
Bernard Yeboah, the 2016 season is one for the record books. Wright has tallied 23 points this season with Yeboah only trailing by two points. If the pair can reach 25 points, then the duo would crack into the top 10 for most points in a single season. In the national ranks, Wright sits 10th in the land while Yeboah is listed in 17th place.
CHASE FOR WIN NO. 115
With UVM's win over Stony Brook earlier in the season, head coach
Jesse Cormier recorded his 109th career victory on the sidelines. Cormier only needs six more wins to break Ron McEachen's record of 114 program wins. The Catamounts have three regular season games remaining on the schedule plus the America East Tournament.
REVISITING THE 2015 TITLE GAME | 2015 America East Championship Highlights
Saturday night's game will mark the first time the two squads have squared off since the 2015 America East Championship. The Catamounts came out on top 1-0 behind Wright's goal in the 33rd minute. Vermont won their fifth America East Championship in program history and second under head coach
Jesse Cormier. Cormier, who picked up his 100th career victory at UVM with the win, also led UVM to a title in 2007, its last, with a 1-0 victory at Binghamton.
SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
The Bearcats are coming off a close 2-1 loss at New Hampshire on Saturday, October 15, which snapped a five-game streak without a loss (3-0-2). During the five games, the three victories came at the feet of a shutout and Binghamton held its opponents to only one goal in the two ties. The Bearcats are containing their foes to 0.93 goals-against average, which is good enough for 46th in the country out of 203 ranked teams. Netminder Alejandro Cubillo is tied for second in the league with five shutouts and ranks fifth with 39 total saves. Binghamton has a high-scoring attack coming from Nikkos Psarras and Ben Ovetsky with four goals and one assist each. The scoring threats are set up for Charlie Novoth and Harrison Weilbacher who have contributed four assists apiece this season.
SERIES HISTORY
Vermont commands the all-time series with a 9-5-3 record. The Catamounts have won five of the last six meetings with all five victories resulting in a shutout. In fact, the only time UVM reached the win column and could not prevent Binghamton from scoring was in the first-ever matchup in 2002 with a 2-1 victory. Since 2007, Vermont has outscored Binghamton, 12-6.
