ABOUT VERMONTUVM (3-4) ended a three-game skid with its most recent win over Sacred Heart at home on March 12. Offensively, the Catamounts rank 16th in the nation averaging 12.14 goals per game and are outscoring opponents 85-75 this season.

Dawes Milchling has had an impressive freshman showing in 2016 as the Cockysville, Maryland native has earned America East Rookie of the Week honors twice this season. Michling has piled up 20 points on 14 goals and six assists in seven appearances, including four starts for the Catamounts.

James Barlow has helped to anchor Vermont's offense this year with a team-best 17 goals, while averaging 3.3 points per game. Tied for second on the squad in points (23), Barlow boasts four extra-man goals to rank seventh nationally, and owns a team-high .732 shot on goal percentage.

Leading UVM in scoring through seven games is junior
Ian MacKay. The Port Elgin, Ontario native has combined 16 goals and 10 assists for 26 points (3.7 ppg). MacKay is currently on a 35-game point streak and with a single goal against Hofstra, the junior will rank top-10 in program history for career goals scored.

Cam Milligan continues to make his way into program history at Vermont, as he is just a pair of assists away from breaking into the top-10 all-time career assist rankings (52). Milligan leads Vermont in helpers for the second straight year (12), ranks 17th nationally in Division I (2.2 apg). The junior sits second overall in the league in points, tallying 4.2 points per contest.

TJ Subel have split time at the X this season. Subel, who has taken the lead most recently, has won 31-of-64 faceoffs including a season-best 11-of-19 showing against Sacred Heart.

Dawes Milchling to net the game-winning score in Vermont's 9-8 overtime victory over Sacred Heart last Saturday (March 12) at Virtue Field.

With two minutes to play in overtime, Milchling stormed around Sacred Heart's goal to score on the doorstep for the rookie's third hat trick of the season and Vermont's third win.

Five different Catamounts gave Vermont a convincing 6-1 advantage over Sacred Heart in the first half. The Cats went on a 4-0 run while
Justin Rosenberg held the Pioneers scoreless for 29:39, until Brian Masi ended Sacred Heart's drought with a goal 11 minutes into the third quarter.

The Pioneers responded with a heavily offensive fourth quarter as Sacred Heart combined for five straight goals within five minutes for its first lead of the game. After a Vermont penalty with 42 seconds to play, Milligan tallied his second man-down goal in six games to send the Catamounts into their first overtime matchup of the season. Milchling tossed a pass over the Sacred Heart net to Milligan, who charged the cage to send UVM and Sacred Heart into a fifth period.

SCOUTING HOFSTRAThe 19th-ranked Hofstra Pride (4-3) have faced a trio of top-25 opponents this season, including wins over Ohio State (March 12) and No. 12 North Carolina in its season opener on February 20. Hofstra is on a two-game losing streak after falling to America East member No. 13 Stony Brook 13-5 and Providence 12-7 last weekend.

The Pride is averaging 9.43 goals on 36.4 shots per game, outscoring opponents 66-60 in 2016. Hofstra's offense is led by junior Josh Byrne, who has recorded a team-best 23 points on 16 goals and seven assists. Midfielder Brian von Bargen and attackman Sam Linares have each posted double-figure scoring on 14 scores.

At the X, Kris Clarke has piled up a .610 win percentage on 83-of-136 trips to the faceoff circle. Clarke has picked up a team-high 48 ground balls and dished out a pair of assists.

Jack Concannon (4-3) has been the predominant force between the pipes this season for Hofstra. The sophomore has totaled 78 saves (.580 save percentage) in seven games and allows 8.74 goals per contest.

ALL-TIME SERIESThe Pride leads the head-to-head series 8-0 against Vermont. The teams have not matched up in nearly 15 years with their last meeting coming in the 2001 season. Tuesday will mark the first game versus Hofstra under head coach
Ryan Curtis.
