SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - The University of Vermont Athletic Department hosted its annual Catamount Golf Classic presented by Baker Distributing on Monday, June 20 at Vermont National Country Club in South Burlington. The shotgun scramble tournament raised $11,712.33 (net), which will be used for student-athlete scholarships in an effort to continually enhance the student-athlete experience. The athletic department would like to thank all the golf participants and tee sponsors that helped make the day such a success.

Each golfer received a custom V-Cat belt and socks provided by Select Design, and a '47 Brand Catamount hat. On the course, Shearer Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac supplied a GMC Canyon and Steve Gentile, Morgan Stanley, sponsored a $10,000 cash prize for hole in one prizing. Coaches and athletic staff members and student-athletes were on hand throughout the day and assisted with deliver beverages (donated by Baker Distributing and Coca-Cola) and Ramunto's Pizza to golfers during their round. Lunch was provided to golfers upon arrival by Kountry Kart Deli.
Following play, participants were greeted by Associate Athletic Director,
Krista Balogh '02, and addressed by Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Robert Corran, and Victory Club Director
Fred Palmer. A buffet was served and Mansfield Heliflight provided a golf ball drop on the driving range, with winner
Brad Keller (women's soccer) receiving $250 provided by Ryan Gunderson '07 (men's hockey). Raffle prizes, donated by the UVM Bookstore, Hockey East, UVM Campus Recreation, and America East were drawn. Silent auction items included autographed items from the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, Kevan Miller '11, Patrick Sharp '02, Martin St. Louis '96, Torrey Mitchell '08, Sidney Crosby, Henrik Lundqvist, the Boston Celtics and PK Subban as well as New York Giants tickets (provided by Tony Cairns), TaylorMade M1 Driver, The SuperStore "Best Seat in the House" recliners, St. Louis Blues tickets for a 2016-17 game (donated by Chris Zimmerman '81), a gift certificate to the Patriots ProShop and a Gutterson Fieldhouse ice rental.
Individual contest winners included Damon Gregoire '91 and Sally Gregoire '88 (women's soccer) receiving gift certificates to Nectar's for Closest to the Pin. Sally Gregoire and Seth Anderson each received a $50 Windjammer gift card for the longest drive competition.
Foursome prizing was provided by Vermont National Country Club. First, second and third place honors for the tournament went to:
