TD Bank Classic Recap
Last weekend in Burlington, the Catamounts posted two solid wins in the TD Bank Classic against Central Connecticut and Manhattan. Friday night against the Blue Devils
Brooke Jenkins got the Catamounts on the board with her first collegiate goal and freshman
Julia Smith added a strike of her own to give the Cats a 2-0 win. Smith played hero on Sunday against the Jaspers burying a low shot after a terrific individual effort with just 3:30 left in the contest – Vermont won by that final 1-0 margin.
Coco Speckmaier made four stops in each match posting her first two career shutouts.

Smith Gets Rookie of the Week Nod
Following her big weekend against CCSU and Manhattan, America East recognized
Julia Smith as the Conference's Rookie of the Week. Smith leads the team with four points – all coming last weekend via her two goals – and fired a team-best 9 shots over the weekend.

Scouting the Rams
Picked to finish 12
th in the Atlantic 10, the Rhode Island Rams come into Sunday's tilt with a 0-2-2 record and will wrap up a four-game road stretch against the Catamounts. The Rams are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to America East preseason favorite Albany on Thursday. Allyson Reynolds scored the lone URI goal – a left-footed finish early in the second half. Senior goalkeeper Katie Nichols began the season by earning A-10 Player of the Week honors and at one point this season held at 215:00 scoreless streak.

Series History
Rhode Island and Vermont have played a total of 13 games dating back to the 1993 season and the Cats are just 3-8-2 in those games. UVM, however, did beat URI last season for the first time since 1996.
Rylee Osgood scored twice in the second half to power UVM to a 3-2 victory down in Kingston last September.
