LAST TIME OUT | Stony Brook Highlights
For the third straight season, the UVM women's soccer team earned an America East Tournament bid on the last day of the regular season with a 2-0 shutout victory against Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon. The Cats jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the fourth minute with an own goal.
Christina Barry padded UVM's lead in the 30th minute with her first career goal. On a corner kick,
Ella Bankert hooked a ball towards the far end of the box where Barry lined a shot through traffic and tucked the second goal of the day inside of the near post.
CAREER COACHING WINS LIST
Head coach
Kristi Lefebvre has accrued 40 wins during her tenure with the Catamounts and she is only one win shy of tying Jodi Kenyon for second place on the program's all-time wins list. In her first season at the helm in 2011, the Catamounts earned a berth into the America East Tournament for the first time in five years and she has guided the Green and Gold to three semifinals appearances during her time in Burlington – the most by a Vermont head coach.
AMERICA EAST POSTSEASON HONORS
The 2017 America East Women's Soccer Annual Awards were handed out on Wednesday. The Catamounts were represented by
Sarah Martin on the All-Conference First Team,
Brooke Jenkins made the All-Conference Second Team and All-Academic Team, and Bankert was honored with an All-Rookie Team nod. Read the full story by clicking the link:

CATS IN THE AMERICA EAST TOURNAMENT
The Catamounts will be making their third straight appearance, 11th trip overall, to the America East Tournament. Last year, UVM entered the conference tournament as the No. 6 seed, which resulted in an upset over No. 3 seed Stony Brook 3-1 in penalty kicks.
SCOUTING ALBANY
The two-time defending America East champion Great Danes finished the regular season with 4-3-1 record in league play to earn the No. 3 seed. Albany enters the conference tournament on a three-game winning streak and has outscored its opponents 6-1 during the three-game set. Mariah Williams wrapped up the 2017 campaign with 14 points on seven goals – both ranked seventh in the league. Vivian Vega and Gina Bracamonte follow Williams with three goals apiece. The Great Danes' offense has relied on the setup tandem of Caroline Kopp and Miranda Badovinac, who have distributed four assists each this season. Goalkeeper Andrea Leitner finished her rookie season with a 1.64 goals-against average and posted a .707 save percentage.
INSIDE THE PLAYOFF SERIES
The Cats and Great Danes will square off for the fourth time in the postseason. In each of the previous three meetings, UVM has forced at least one overtime period. In 2004, the Great Danes escaped with a 2-1 double overtime win in the America East Quarterfinal, but the Green and Gold avenged the loss in 2012 by advancing to the semifinals on penalty kicks (3-2). In 2015, Albany prevented Vermont's first America East Championship appearance with a 2-1 overtime win in the semifinal round.
AMERICA EAST SEMIFINAL
The winner of this game will head to second-seeded Binghamton for the America East Semifinal on Sunday (Oct. 29) at 1 p.m.
Almartin Volvo is the presenting sponsor of the 2017 women's soccer season.
