Max Kaufman posted a career-high three points on a goal and two assists, while Stefanos Lekkas matched his career-high with 41 saves in the Catamount net. Rasanen and fellow rookie Logan Hutsko eached tallied a pair of goals for BC.

Kaufman started the scoring less than five minutes into the first period, firing a wrist shot past Joseph Woll (21 saves) from the top of the left wing circle. His linemate Anthony Petruzzelli doubled the lead at 11:31, converting a backhanded rebound from the top of the crease off a feed from Kaufman.

Hutsko responded with his first of the night less than 90 seconds later as he slid a low shot under Lekkas' pads from the right wing. With just over a minute remaining in the first, Rasanen potted his first career goal on a back door one-timer.

Hutsko had the lone goal of the middle frame, sending BC into the second intermission with a 3-2 cushion. The freshman deked left to right across the goalmouth patiently before slipping a low forehand effort into the net for his second tally of the contest.

The Catamounts killed off a pair of penalties early in the third and found the equalizer through Matt O'Donnell at 5:37. Conor O'Neil's right circle attempt was denied by Woll, but O'Donnell found the rebound in the slot and fired a backhander home through traffic for his fourth of the season. Kaufman collected the secondary assist on the play.

UVM killed off another Boston College power play late in the third, but the Eagles kept the puck in the offensive zone when the penalty expired. Rasanen restored the BC lead at 16:54 when he spun a backhander into the upper right corner as Vermont couldn't clear the puck for a line change.

The Cats pulled Lekkas with 2:06 left in regulation after a BC timeout for a 6-on-5. Rob Darrar had two quality chances to tie the score, but both opportunities took deflections and missed the target. An empty-net goal from the Eagles was called back due to a penalty, but Boston College held off Vermont on a 6-on-4 situation.

The schools close the weekend series at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 11) at Gutterson on Military Appreciation Night Presented by Milton Cat. The team will wear special camouflage jerseys that will be auctioned off at UVMathletics.com/Auctions. The auction opens on Saturday at game time and closes on Monday, Nov. 20.
