SETTING THE SCENE
The two programs are looking to reach the win column for the first time this season. The Cats started the season with a tough three-game road trip at Louisville, Ohio State, and Colgate. The Red Foxes got the 2017 campaign underway with a nearby visit to Army on Feb. 11 and fell last week to No. 7 Stony Brook. Saturday will be UVM's rubber match in home openers as the all-time record is deadlocked at 17-17. Vermont's scoring attack has been a tri-fecta this season in
Alison Bolt,
Jenna Janes, and
Brynne Yarranton – each have scored five goals apiece. Bolt has dished out three assists and Janes has set her teammates up with a pair of assists.

LAST TIME OUT
Vermont closed out the three-game road trip with a 14-11 non-conference defeat at Colgate last Saturday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Catamounts against the Raiders. Bolt guided the UVM offense with a hat trick and recorded two assists. The senior won four draw controls and caused three turnovers.
Courtney Cole,
Elena McWright, and Janes tallied two goals apiece.
Maddy Kuras made seven saves in net and
Catherine Green stopped four shots in a relief appearance.
DRUMMOND FAMILY REUNION
Saturday's home opener will be a reunion for a pair of assistant coaches. UVM assistant coach Jess Drummond will square off with her twin sister and Marist assistant coach Jana Drummond. The duo were four-year letterwinners for the Oregon Ducks from 2009-12. The Drummond tandem are tied for fifth on Oregon's career caused turnovers list (61). Jana set Oregon's all-time career goals record with 146 goals and Jess ranks fourth in school history with 130 career draw controls.
AMERICA EAST RANKS
The Catamounts rank third in America East with a 48.3% team shot percentage after finding the back of the net 28 times on 58 shot attempts. Vermont has also caused 24 turnovers in the early going – the third-most among league teams, including 17 in the last two games.
SCOUTING MARIST
Marist was tied for third in the 2017 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll and returns seven starters from a season ago, including senior goalie Abigail Witczak. She enters 2017 with the lowest career goals-against average in program history (9.77) and her 353 saves sit fifth on Marist's all-time list. In the Red Foxes' two games this year, Hailey Wagner leads the unit with four goals and three assists. Samantha Meehalick has matched Wagner with four scores as seven different players have recorded a point.
SERIES HISTORY
The Catamounts hold a 6-3 advantage over the Red Foxes as the all-time series dates back to 2002. Vermont won six of the first seven meetings, but Marist has rebounded with back-to-back victories. UVM has never lost by more than two goals to the Red Foxes and have averaged a +6.5 margin of victory in the six wins.
