Vermont's senior class finished their careers with 77 wins, which ranks third all-time in the Division I era of the program behind the Classes of 1997 and 1998. The 10 members of the class helped the Catamounts win at least 20 games in three of their four seasons.

Rob Hamilton posted three points on two goals and an assist in his final collegiate game. Fellow senior Brady Shaw led the team with 11 shots on goal.

The Eagles opened the scoring 3:35 into the game on an early power play. JD Dudek collected a pass from Colin White and wristed a shot through traffic to put Boston College up 1-0. Scott Savage posted the secondary assist.

Connor Moore doubled the lead at 7:10 as he fired a shot through a screen that hit the back bar to beat Stefanos Lekkas (27 saves). Dudek added his second power play tally of the period just before the 9:00 mark for a 3-0 advantage.

UVM answered at the 13:14 mark on the power play as Hamilton picked out Ross Colton in the left circle. The freshman delayed before firing a low wrist shot inside the right post past Joseph Woll (32 saves) for his 12th of the season. Senior Mario Puskarich collected the second assist on the play.

The Catamounts earned another power play in the final minute of the first, and Hamilton snuck a right point shot under Woll's pads with 18 seconds on the clock for his career-high 10th goal of the year. Boston College took a 3-2 lead into the first intermission.

After a double minor was called on UVM four and a half minutes into the second, co-captain Brendan Bradley nearly equalized but hit the left post on a shorthanded rush on the right wing.

The Eagles then converted on the second half of power play when Austin Cangelosi finished off a feed from White at the back door. Cangelosi added another power play tally four minutes later, finishing a forehand shot at 11:22 for a 5-2 cushion.

Hamilton drew one back with 2:46 left in the middle frame, collecting a loose puck in the slot and ripping a shot high blocker side on Woll to cut BC's lead back to two.

Chris Calnan put the game out of reach at 13:25 of the third period, deking a backhand under Lekkas' pads after a self-pass down the right wing boards.

Ryan Fitzgerald followed his own shot to make it a 7-3 game later in the third, and rookie Matt O'Donnell finished a rebound for Vermont with 1:58 remaining to cap the scoring.
