CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Dawes Milchling registered his fifth career hat trick and added three assists, but Harvard strung together a six-goal run over the final two quarters to earn a 13-10 victory over Vermont on Saturday at Harvard Stadium.

Saturday's result moves the Catamounts to 3-3 on the season, while Harvard improves to 4-0 overall.
Harvard jumped out to a 2-0 lead by the 12:35 mark of the opening quarter on tallies by Morgan Cheek and Sean Coleman. The sides then exchanged goals for the remainder of the quarter before Vermont netted four straight heading into period number two.
Charlie Cobb had his first goal of the season during the stretch, while
Braiden Davis had a pair, including one on an EMO.
After Cheek responded with a pair to tie the score at six-all, the Catamounts wrapped up the first half's scoring with a trio. Milchling buried a shot with 6:04 on the clock, then
Michael Clarke found Davis at the 4:07 mark and
Jack Knight set up
Cam Milligan with less than three minutes remaining.
While UVM carried an advantage of three into the second half, the Crimson proceeded to net six straight coming out of the break. That ultimately resulted in a 12-9 advantage for Harvard. Milchling narrowed the UVM deficit down to 12-10 with 2:48 remaining in regulation, but Cheek extended the lead back to three with just over a minute left to seal the win.
Milligan now has scored a goal in 13 straight games, a streak that entered the weekend tied for the sixth longest across Division I. The senior also has logged a point in each of his 37 games as a Catamount, a run that was tied for the 11th longest among all active players heading into Saturday.
Harvard's Robert Shaw made 14 saves in the win, while
Nick Washuta turned aside seven shots for the Catamounts. Vermont had the overall edge in shots, 37-33. Led by a game-high 10 from
Charlie Erdmann, UVM also scooped 32 ground balls to Harvard's 26 as a team.
The Catamounts wrap up their four-game road swing next Saturday (March 11) with a 3 p.m. tilt at Sacred Heart in Fairfield, Connecticut.
