SHELBURNE, Vt. – Members of the Vermont field hockey team spent Friday morning (April 7) at Shelburne Community School discussing the importance of teamwork and cooperation with the elementary-aged students.
The team split up to visit a total five classrooms ranging from first through fifth grade to discuss the importance of teamwork as an athlete, student and individual. Each classroom also took part in some team-building activities, followed by reflection on what was helpful or unhelpful while working to complete the tasks. The students were able to see first-hand how strategizing and teamwork helped them in their challenges and pointed out a couple ways they could be more successful when working together.
The Catamounts ended their visit with a question-and-answer session as well as some autograph signing.
