French played in all 13 games this past season for the Catamounts, starting all but one contest. In that span, he recorded a team-best 25 goals and ranked second among the group in both assists (11) and total points (36). The economics major also chipped in four caused turnovers and 15 ground ball pickups.
He began his UVM career with a six-point night at Furman (Feb. 2), putting home four goals including the game-tying tally with under 15 seconds remaining in regulation. Two days later, French's late-game heroics came out again as the rookie forced overtime at Mercer (Feb. 4). Both of those games culminated with victories for Vermont after the Catamounts battled back from deficits of five. UVM went on to start 3-0, doing so for the first time since 2001.
French wrapped up the year averaging 2.77 points per game, which led all rookies in America East and ranks 11th in the country this season among all first-year players.
