DEDHAM, Mass. – The Catamounts scored the first two goals of the game, but Northeastern fought back with six unanswered for a 6-2 victory on Sunday afternoon at Dedham Field in Vermont's non-conference field hockey finale.

UVM falls to 4-5 heading into America East play, while the Huskies improve to 5-4.

Vermont struck first in the 18th minute after a cage-front scramble as
Landon Warren found a loose ball and chipped it past NU goalie Julia Ennis for her eighth goal of the season.
Rachel Phillips doubled the lead less than two minutes later, becoming the first player to convert a penalty stroke against Northeastern this season.

The Huskies quickly answered with a pair of goals from Laura MacLachlan in the 21st minute and Jamie Bartucca in the 23rd. The teams headed into halftime knotted at two apiece with a slight shot advantage for the hosts.

Northeastern took the lead for good in the 54th minute on a penalty corner.
Lena Benwood (4 saves) made a pair of stops in front of the cage, but Kristin Abreu hoisted the rebound into the top half of the net for the go-ahead tally.

Five and a half minutes later, Ffion Thompson sent a penalty stroke past Benwood for a 4-2 NU cushion. Abreu added her second goal of the contest on a quick restart in the 63rd minute, and Camille O'Conor capped off the scoring in the 65th.

Shannon English made her collegiate debut in the cage, playing the final six minutes without allowing a goal. Warren and
Jackie Gillen finished with three shots each.Â
