SETTING THE SCENE
Vermont has fared well on the road this season. The Cats have used the final 45 minutes to their advantage as seven of their nine goals in away contests have come in the second half.
Justin Freitas has racked up eight points on three goals and two assists away from home.
Geo Alves has matched his former Dean College teammate with three goals during the stretch. Overall, Alves is tied for the America East lead with six goals and Freitas is creeping up the list with three goals. Goalie
Aron Runarsson ranks third in the league with 3.80 saves per outing.
LAST TIME OUT
The Catamounts could not overcome three first-half goals by Dartmouth and dropped Saturday's contest 5-2 to their twin state rival. The Catamounts got on the board in the 25th minute on a penalty kick.
Mikel Kabala notched his first goal of the season after placing the kick into the top left corner. As the clock ticked down to the final minutes,
Justin Freitas tallied this third goal of the year in the 87th minute. Tiger Graham scored a pair of goals to lead the Big Green.
IVY LEAGUE TRI-FECTA
The Crimson are the third Ivy League team on the docket for the Cats. This season marks the first time since 2007 where the Green and Gold will face three Ivy League programs. In 2007, UVM took on Harvard, Cornell, and Dartmouth on its way to an America East Championship.
SCOUTING HARVARD
The Crimson are trying to snap a three-game winless streak and Harvard has also lost both contests to America East teams this year – a 3-0 defeat at UMass Lowell on Sept. 4 and a 3-1 loss to Albany on Saturday. Harvard has scored a total of four goals this season, all from freshmen and sophomores. Freshmen Paolo Belloni-Uros scored the game-winner in a 2-1 victory at Providence on Sept. 9 while fellow newcomer Cornelius Bencsik found the back of the net in Saturday's match versus Albany. Sophomore Philip Hausen tallied his score in a 1-1 draw with crosstown rival Northeastern on Sept. 13 and second-year midfielder Matthew Glass notched Harvard's first goal in the win at Providence. Senior keeper Kyle Parks has earned five starts between the goalposts and leads the Ivy League with 5.17 saves per game.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The programs will revisit the all-time series for the first time since 2011. UVM will try to even the series mark as the Cats are currently 4-5-1 against the Crimson. The Green and Gold won the last matchup in 2011 with a 1-0 shutout which snapped a three-game skid against their Ivy League rival.
