COACH'S QUOTE
"I'm really proud of the way we played today," said head coach
Jim Plumer. "We came out strong and played a great first period and our compete level was right with BC the whole game. This team is getting better each week and that is what we are focused on at this point in the season."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont pushed the pace early as Ali O'Leary nearly scored on a wraparound attempt at 5:58 in the first period. The junior assistant captain wheeled out from behind the net and tried to stuff the puck under the pads of McArthur, but it hit the post and was cleared away.
- Olivia Kilberg came close to scoring later on in the period when she backhanded a shot from the high slot that snuck under the arm of the BC goaltender. The puck trickled towards the goal, but it was batted away by an Eagles' defender for a scoreless opening frame.
- Theresa Schafzahl almost buried her first career goal early in the second period when she broke into the BC zone on a 2-on-1. The freshman opted to shoot and snapped the puck that tested McArthur in goal.
- Boston College broke the scoreless tie with 14:40 left in the middle frame on a power-play goal by Watts. The sophomore forward cleaned up a rebound from a Cayla Barnes shot for her fourth goal of the season.
- Black made a series of great saves for the Catamounts on the penalty kill as BC had three opportunities with a man-advantage in the second period. Her biggest save came when she slid across the crease to rob Megan Keller alone in front.
- The Eagles entered the third period with a 2-0 lead after Newkirk snuck a shot through the pads of Black with 7:47 left in the frame.
- Vermont had its chances near the midway point of the third period while on the power play. Saana Valkama sent a pass to Alyssa Holmes in the slot where she quickly fired a shot that was turned away by McArthur. Holmes had another opportunity when she nearly deflected a shot from Maude Poulin-Labelle.
- Poulin-Labelle wristed a shot on goal with a man-advantage later in the period that was deflected by Sammy Kolowrat through traffic, but the BC goaltender made the save.
- Caitrin Longergan sealed the game with an empty-net goal in the final two minutes of regulation. Watts was credited with the assist.
NOTES
- It was the second consecutive game that Black made 22 saves for Vermont
- Schafzahl, Poulin-Labelle, and Ève-Audrey Picard had a team-high four shots on goal
