"This win, on the road, means a lot to the team right now," Pfeifer said. "Consistency is something we've been searching for, and there is some real progress happening, especially in terms of our preparation. I'm proud of the way we battled today and remained composed under pressure brought by UNH.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sierra Espeland (10 saves) and the Catamount defense held off a Wildcat push at the start of the game, with the sophomore goalie making several early stops. Espeland set a new career-high with double-digit saves.
- With the clock winding down in the opening half, Warren netted her sixth of the season to give Vermont a 1-0 lead in Durham.
- Warren didn't take long to net her second of the game, finding the back of the Wildcat net less than four minutes into the second half to double the Catamount lead. She now sits fifth in Vermont history with 70 career points and third in program history in goals (38). The senior needs just two goals to move into second in UVM history.
- New Hampshire's Kayla Siz scored her first goal of the season to cut Vermont's lead in half in the 58th minute.
- Not long after the Wildcat tally, Rachel Phillips iced the game in the 61st minute off a penalty corner. The junior now has four goals in Vermont's last three matches.
