COACH'S QUOTE
"I thought we played harder in the second half and when the second unit came in, they kept the intensity level up and we were able to pull away," Cioffi Men's Basketball Head Coach John Becker said. "There are some positives to take away from this game, like we set the UVM scoring record for most points in a game. I had no idea until after the game so that's pretty cool."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Catamounts cruised through the first half and shot 54.8% (23-for-42) in the process. The Hornets tied the game at 2-2 on their first offensive possession but the rest of the period belonged to UVM. The Green and Gold outscored the Hornets 62-35 through the first 20 minutes and held NVU Lyndon to 43.8% shooting.
  • UVM continued to roll in the second half as the defensive unit contained the Hornets to 25.9% (7-for-27) shooting in the final frame. The Cats found their stroke with 62 points and shot 63.2% (24-for-38) from the field. The bench came alive in the second half with 44 points and the Green and Gold scored 38 points in the paint.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • All 11 Catamounts who stepped on the floor recorded a point including six players in double figures. Everett Duncan led the way with a career-high 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting. He also collected four rebounds and tallied three steals. Isaiah Moll matched Duncan and set a new career-high as well in his young career with 17 points.
  • Robin Duncan flirted with a triple-double with 16 points, 10 boards, and nine rebounds.
  • Ra Kpedi logged 16 points and shot a near perfect 5-of-6 from the floor. He grabbed four boards and was one of seven Catamounts to record a steal.
  • Vermont is off to a 2-1 start for the third straight year.
  • UVM surpassed 100 points in a single game for the first time since December 23, 2006.
  • With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate another $100 to the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington, bringing this year's total to 101 wins and $10,100.
