HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maude Poulin-Labelle gave the Catamounts the lead with her first career goal at 10:42 in the opening period. The rookie defender walked in on the power play and wristed a shot over the glove of Corinne Schroeder (19 saves) for the go-ahead goal. Sammy Kolowrat and Theresa Schafzahl assisted on the marker.
- BU responded with two unanswered goals over the first and second period. Mackenna Parker put the Terriers on the board with a shorthanded goal in the final minutes of the opening frame and Jesse Compher took the lead at 3:18 in the second period.
- Alyssa Gorecki netted her second goal of the season at 5:19 in the third period to tie the game for the Catamounts. The senior captain received a pass from Alyssa Holmes and drove towards the net before lifting the puck over Schroeder's glove. Taylor Flaherty also assisted on the goal.
- BU regained the lead when Sammy Davis patiently fired a backhand shot on the rush over the glove of Melissa Black (23 saves).
- Down a goal with 1:49 left in regulation, Plumer pulled Black to bring on the extra attacker. Vermont won the faceoff and established control in the Terrier's zone. Kolowrat sent a backdoor pass to Picard who batted the puck home for the game-tying goal. Sini Karjalainen was credited with the secondary assist.
- The Catamounts outshot BU 3-1 in the extra frame and had some quality chances, but were unable to get the clinching goal.
