Women’s Soccer Announces Seven Recruits in Class of 2023

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Vermont head women's soccer coach Kristi Huizenga has officially announced her recruiting class for the 2019 season. The group of seven newcomers includes three midfielders, two forwards, one defender, and one netminder.

"We are extremely enthusiastic about this class and I know they will bring great things to Catamount Country," Huizenga said. "They are terrific people, students, and players and they will bring talent to our team in a wide range of positions. We look forward to their arrival in August."

UVM finished the regular season with an 6-8-3 overall record and a 4-3-1 mark in conference play. The four victories during the league slate matched the most during Huizenga's eight-year tenure. The Cats had one of the top defenses in America East. Vermont surrendered the third-fewest goals (22) and recorded the third-best goals-against average (1.29).

The Catamounts had a trio of student-athletes earn America East postseason awards. Seniors Brooke Jenkins and Casey Garfinkel made the All-Conference Second Team and All-Academic Team while freshman Alyssa Oviedo landed on the All-Rookie Team.

Guided her club team to 2017 & 2018 Surf Cup title

Allison Oestreicher

Hannah Stone

Was a 2017 & 2018 OAA All-League honoree
Helped lead her team to back-to-back undefeated regular seasons and OAA League Championships as a sophomore and junior
