ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Vermont outscored St. Bonaventure 8-0 in the second half and rolled to an 18-10 victory on Tuesday afternoon. The Catamounts even their record at 1-1 while the Bonnies fall to 0-2.

Jenna Janes had a big day with five goals and she was a perfect 3-for-3 in free-position attempts. The junior also won three draw controls and caused a turnover.
Elise Koehl matched Janes with five points on four goals and recorded an assist.
Elena McWright added four points with a hat trick and one assist.
MacKenzie Bolt followed with four points as well after netting a pair of goals and handing out two assists.
Maddy Kuras picked up her first win of the season in goal after making eight saves.
The Bonnies had four players tally three points. Julia Davidson posted a hat trick while Ashley Easterday scored two goals and handed out an assist. Olivia MacDonald matched Easterday with a pair of goals and one assist. Gabrielle Bradley contributed one goal and two assists. In goal, Savannah Clark suffered the loss with four saves.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair with nine lead changes and six ties. Easterday scored the first goal of the afternoon but the Catamounts rebounded with four unanswered goals in less than five minutes. Near the midway point of the period, the Bonnies scored three unanswered goals of their own and tied the game at 5-5 with 13:40 left in the half. The non-conference foes traded goals until SBU built a 9-7 lead with 2:34 remaining on the clock. Vermont responded with three scores in the final 1:20 and held a 10-9 lead, but the Bonnies netted the equalizer in the final seconds as the score was deadlocked at 10-10 by halftime.
The Catamounts jumped out of the gate in the second half as
Courtney Cole scored a woman-down goal less than two minutes into the final frame. UVM blew the game open with three quick scores in a three-minute stretch. The Cats' defensive unit held the Bonnies to only five shots in the period and forced 13 turnovers.
With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate another $100 to the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington, bringing this year's total to 100 wins and $10,000.
